Have you heard us talking about “PT” and wanted to know more about this fantastic program? Jazzercise Personal Touch is a specialized strength-training program that is offered in addition to the regular Jazzercise class formats.

I have been in PT since the second session (Winter 2002) and I am so much stronger and more confident in appearance since I joined PT. I joined because I wanted to get in better shape and be healthier before turning 40. Not only did I accomplish this, but I dropped two sizes and several inches and have kept it off! If I had to describe PT to others, I would tell them it is awesome strength training program with nutritonal guidance to make you stronger and healthier. I joined the PT program because I felt that I was ready to step up my exercise program. I still feel that regular Jazzercise gives a very good muscle toning segment but PT just gives you an opportunity to be more focused on all areas. I know that there are some people considering this program and to them I would say that if you feel you need to step-up your conditioning or just want to kick butt, PT is a great place to start. What’s great about PT is that I now feel that I do focus more on my moves and make each one count during both regular Jazzercise and PT. I have gained more than increased strength, I have gained friendship, discipline, motivation, better self esteem, a better fitting wardrobe and my overall fitness level has increased.

The goal of PT is to burn fat, lose inches and build lean muscle mass. In every PT class, we will lead you in a set of moves strength-training moves designed to build lean muscle mass. The following is a list of the important details, but please be sure to ask if you have specific questions that aren’t answered here:

PT success is made up of 3 parts –PT attendance 2 times a week, Cardio workout 5 times a week, and Daily caloric intake in the 1,200 to 1,500 calorie range.
•PT moves are designed for the benefit of individual muscle groups and weights are added to maximize those benefits.
Here are a few pictures of the type of equipment and moves that are performed in our Personal Touch Classes.

We use stability disks, balls, tubes, weights and steps to train you.

Classes size is limited so that the instructor can demonstrate the correct move and then walk around the room to monitor your progress.

• PT is tough, but can be modified to accommodate every fitness level – you don’t need to be in “good” shape before joining PT.
• PT does not and should not replace your cardio workout routine. The best results are seen when students combine PT with a consistent cardio workout schedule.
You need the following in every PT class: Exercise mat, A set of 8 lb hand weights, A set of 5 lb hand weights, Leg weights that fit above the knees, and Water.

Because PT is separate from your regular Jazzercise classes and the cost is $175 for each session. There are early registration discounts so be sure to check our news page.

You can try one PT class for $15 at any time. PT classes last 60 minutes and babysitting is provided at a minimal cost to the students. We’d love to see you in PT – and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask them!
